William R. McDermotte Jr., age 53, died December 27, 1998 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America at Yale University Class of 1967. He was employed as a chef with the Sandpiper Restaurant on Martha's Vineyard, Mt. Snow, Vermont and various cruise ships. He also served in the U.S. navy during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Italy.
