James S. Neher

James Neher, 51, of Riverside, Rhode Island, owner of the Pearle Vision Center in North Dartmouth since 1990, died unexpectedly October 19, 1997, at home. He was the husband of Debra (Scott) Neher.

Born in Hartford, Conn., he was the son of the late Herman and Eileen (O'Brien) Neher of Somerset. He moved to Riverside 11 Years ago.

Mr. Neher had been employed by Douglas Drug as the resident optician for 13 years before the Pearle Vision store opened.

He attended St. Anselm's Academy in New Hampshire and was a graduate of the Boston School of Opticians. He was an active member of the Rhode Island Optical Association and was a member  of the Massachusette National Guard.

Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Alissa Taylor and Madison H. Neher and a son, Christopher S. Neher, all at home, and two sisters, Nancy Vallancourt of Hopkinton, RI, and Marilyn Brunold of Los Angeles, CA.
